Job summary
We are seeking an experienced nurse
to join our friendly team. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a
well-regarded GP Practice, based in a modern building in Jericho, close to the
City Centre. We work collaboratively
with colleagues in our Primary Care Network, consisting of 5 practices based
across 2 sites.
Ideally you will have at least 3
years experience, preferably in Primary Care, with skills in chronic disease
management, cytology, wound care, minor illness, immunisation programmes,
travel vaccinations and the full range of treatment room services, but training
is available for the right candidate. Your attitude and commitment to high standards
will be as important as your experience and qualifications. We are looking for
someone to work up to full time, but days and hours are negotiable.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be an
experienced nurse, who will provide care for the presenting patient from
initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and
evaluation of care. They will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and
expert care for patients. They will work with a high degree of autonomy on a
day-to-day basis but will also work collaboratively with general practitioners
and other practice nurses and colleagues to meet the needs of patients.
About us
Dr Leaver & Partners is a three-partner
practice, employing four part-time salaried GPs, a nurse, phlebotomist, pharmacist,
pharmacy technician, physiotherapist, wellbeing support worker, and a mental
health practitioner.
Our patient list of 10,500 patients
is made up of local residents and students and staff of Oxford University. We
provide a college doctor service to 9 of the University colleges, and work
collaboratively with our college nurses.
As a multi-disciplinary team we seek
to offer a responsive service to patients, with continuity of care a
priority.

risks on a continuing basis.
Participate in continuing
professional development opportunities to ensure that up-to-date evidence-based
knowledge and competence in all aspects of the role is maintained, as well as
undertaking mandatory and statutory training on a regular basis.
Monitor the effectiveness of their
clinical practice through practice quality assurance strategies such as the use
of audit and peer review.
Keep up to date with pertinent health-related
policy and work with the practice team to consider the impact and strategies
for implementation.
Understand and apply statutory child
and vulnerable adult health procedure and local safeguarding guidance.
Ensure that all practice policies are
fully implemented.
Participate in practice meetings.
Work closely with the doctors and
Practice Manager in improving practice systems for monitoring/measuring
performance against Clinical Governance and Quality Indicator targets and
participate in audits and inspections as appropriate.
