Job summary

Great opportunity to work within the health service. Friendly GP surgery needs an enthusiastic, reliable and flexible person to join our growing team.

Your role will be to support our patients face to face, on the telephone, and digitally. You will also be expected to work closely with our clinical team by providing admin support.

We are looking for someone to work 4 shifts per week (a total of 18 hours per week).

Morning shifts are 08.00am - 12.30pm.

Afternoon shifts are 2.00pm - 6.30pm.

Main duties of the job

Front reception duties including meeting and greeting patients & visitors

Supporting our patients with digital access

Signposting appropriately to healthcare professionals

Liaising with local hospitals, community services, and other healthcare providers

Managing own administrative workload

Supporting Clinical staff with admin

New North Health Centre is a single handed GP surgery based in Islington, sharing a space with New North Pharmacy.

We are a small, friendly, welcoming team of enthusiastic staff who strive to provide high class healthcare to our patients.

We are currently hiring an additonal receptionist for the team as the surgery grows in size.

Job description

Job responsibilities

To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include, but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, the processing of information and assisting patients as required.

The following are the core responsibilities of the Receptionist. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system

Process face to face, telephone and online requests for appointments

Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately

Signposting patients to the correct service

Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies

Code appropriate data on the clinical IT system

Photocopy documentation as required

Input data into patients healthcare records as necessary

Scan patient related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients healthcare records

Manage incoming lab reports on a daily basis sending to appropriate clinician

Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner

Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
