A small, friendly GP surgery based in Islington looking for a salaried GP to join the team.
We are dedicated to providing excellent patient care. We foster an ethos of treating our patients with empathy and respect whilst maintaining and developing outstanding clinical practice.
We are based near to Essex Road mainline train station.

£11,000.00 per session
Sessions: 4 - 5 sessions per week (negotiable)
6 weeks Annual Leave (pro rata)
About us
New North Health Centre is a single handed practice based in Islington. New North is an established GP surgery that had a change of GP Partner and Practice Management in December 2024.
Our current list size is approx. 1400 patients, although we are working hard to increase this.
We are looking for a highly motivated, reliable, and friendly salaried GP to work alongside the GP Partner to become an integral part of our thriving NHS practice.

Job responsibilities
- The post-holder will undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner
- Consultations with patients will be between 10 and 15 minutes long, depending on mode of consultation
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health
- Providing counselling and health education
- Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
- Be responsible for following practice protocols on computer use, audit and the maintenance of manual and computer patient records and any others as agreed by clinical staff.
- Collecting data for audit purposes
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible) and following the practice protocol for repeat prescriptions.
- Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
- Maintaining good working relationships with all members of the local health economy.
- Providing the full range of general/personal medical services to the practices patients in line with the aims and objectives of the GMS GP Contract.
- Working to national and local guidelines and practice protocols for the provision of primary care.
- Be responsible to attending practice, PCN and MDT meetings when appropriate and practicable.
- In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care
