Main duties of the job

The Project Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the design, coordination, and delivery of transformation and service improvement projects across the Primary Care Network (PCN). Working closely with clinical and non-clinical teams, the post holder will provide project coordination, administrative oversight, and engagement support to ensure that initiatives are delivered efficiently on time, and with measurable impact for patients, carers, and staff.

Mid Dorset Primary Healthcare Ltd is the employing organisation for Mid Dorset Primary Care Network. The network covers a population of approximately 50,000 patients across our practice partners: The Atrium Health Centre, Cerne Abbas Surgery, Fordington Surgery, Milton Abbas Surgery, Poundbury Surgery, Puddletown Surgery, The Prince of Wales Surgery.

Although practices still operate independently, working together collaboratively provides wider opportunities and services for patients.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Support the planning, delivery, and monitoring of PCN transformation projects aligned with NHS priorities and local health needs

Coordinate project meetings, workshops, and events including agenda setting, minute taking, and follow-up of actions

Monitor project timelines and task progress, escalating risks or issues where necessary

Maintain and update project documentation such as plans, reports, risk logs, and communications

Support project evaluations by gathering and analysing feedback, usage data, and outcomes

Stakeholder Engagement

Build relationships with GP practices, clinical teams, social prescribers, carer leads, and community partners

Communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders to support project awareness and participation

Assist in the development of communications and promotional materials for transformation projects

Ensure that patient and public involvement is considered in project delivery, where appropriate

Service Improvement Support

Identify areas for service development through data analysis, feedback, or stakeholder consultation

Work with team leads to support continuous improvement approaches (e.g. PDSA cycles, process mapping)

Contribute to the writing and editing of improvement plans, business cases, and evaluation reports

Administrative Support

Provide general administrative support to the PCN team, including document preparation, scheduling, and report collation

Support the tracking of key project metrics and reporting requirements to ICS or funders

Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all NHS data governance and information sharing protocols
