Here is an opportunity to lead a team of administrators and medical secretaries and develop your leadership skills.
This job is fast paced and you will have the chance to improve processes and quality within the practice in relation to the administrative side of Primary Care. You will also be instrumental in overseeing the administrative aspect of the Covid vaccination programme.
No two days are the same in a GP surgery; there will be challenges and you will be well supported in rising to meet these.

Main duties of the job
Managing a team of administrators / Medical
Secretaries
Clinical coding of incoming documents
Building and Running reports in the clinical
system
Using the patient recall system and training
others in the use of this system to ensure patients are invited for their
reviews
Lead for the administrative side of the
Cytology (Cervical Screening) programme
Oversight of the administrative side of the
national immunisation programme for adults, babies and children
IT support for minor issues in the practice
Setting up IT accounts for new starters and
other practice staff
Conduct appraisals and reviews for the
administrative team
Conduct return to work and attendance meetings
as required
Act as a fire marshal in the event of a fire
or fire drill
Participate in risk assessments including
Health & Safety and Fire safety
Undertake the financial claims for the
practice including CQRS, local and national enhanced services
Run the administrative side of the Covid 19
vaccination spring and autumn booster campaigns (produce and collate patient
lists, data entry, liaise with the ICB and other organisations, ensure consent
forms are completed and produce route plans for the vaccination team)
Assist in inducting new starters and training
Recruitment; writing job adverts, listing,
shortlisting and interviewing.Health
and Safety supervision of contractors working on site (safe working
methods)Ensuring
that the building complies with all aspects of legislation and best
practice.
About us
Trentside has served the local population of Netherfield, Colwick, Carlton & Gedling for many years. We have just over 18,700 patients registered with us and we are part of the Synergy Primary Care Network.
Our team is made up of GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Physiotherapists, Clinical Pharmacists, HCAs, Associate Practioner and our reception and admin team. Overall, we have about 70 people working here to deliver high quality care to our community.
We have two large sites; the main site in the centre of Netherfield and another site at Carlton Hill. There is free staff car parking at both sites and staff room facilities.
