Park Medical Group is a long established GP Practice based in Whitley Bay, and

We
currently have a 30 - 37.5 hours vacancy for a new member of staff to join
our Reception and Administration Team to cover 12 month's maternity leave.
There is the potential for the position to become permanent, following the 12 month fixed term.
You
will be joining us at an exciting time, as we look to relocate to a new build site in late 2025, not far from our current site.
The
practice is open between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday.
Main duties of the job
Appointment Scheduling - Manage and coordinate patient appointments using the practice's clinical system; SystmOne
Phone Management- Handle incoming calls, addressing patient inquiries, providing information, and directing calls appropriately.
Administrative Duties- Perform various administrative tasks, including updating patient records, processing paperwork and prescription requests.
Communication - Serve as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and clinical staff, ensuring clear and effective communication.
Problem Solving - Address and resolve patient concerns and issues promptly and courteously.
About us
Beaumont Park Medical Group provides primary care services to over 6,500 patients, with three long standing GP Partners, working alongside a multi-disciplinary clinical team including Advanced Practitioner, Practice Nursing and HCA Team, Pharmacy Team, First Contact Physio, Frailty Nurse and Social Prescriber.
The clinicians are supported by a Reception, Administration and Secretarial Team.
In the 2024 National GP Patient Survey, we scored highly for our patient's overall experience of the practice and in particular the helpfulness of our Reception and Administration Team.
We are a member of Whitley Bay Primary Care Network, and aim to be a training practice in 2025, providing training opportunities for doctors in training.

Duties and responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the practice Reception and Administration team may include any or all of the items in the following list. Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the Office Manager / Practice Manager, dependant on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels:
- Opening up/locking up of practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with practice protocols
- Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system
- Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations, and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional
- Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail
- Taking messages and passing on information
- Filing and retrieving paperwork
- Processing repeat prescriptions and acute prescription request in accordance with practice guidelines
- Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures
- Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team member and associated healthcare agencies and providers
- Clearing and re-stocking of consulting rooms as required
- Providing clerical assistance to practice staff as required from time to time, including word/data processing, filing, photocopying and scanning
- Dealing with clinical waste
- Keeping the reception area, notice-boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter
