Beaumont Park Medical Group is a long established GP
Practice based in Whitley Bay, and we pride ourselves on maintaining a
welcoming environment where both patients and staff feel valued and supported.
We currently have a 18 - 22 hours 12 month fixed term vacancy for an experienced Practice Nurse to join the team, starting in July 2025, working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and are flexible with start and finish times to provide maternity leave cover.
You will be joining us at an exciting time, as we look to
relocate to a new build site in 2026 not far from our current site in Whitley Bay.
The practice is open between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to join our busy, friendly GP practice. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and team working skills.
Working under the direct supervision of the GPs and in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the Practice Nurse will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of patient care.
To include -
- Chronic disease management according to protocols.
- Coronary Heart Disease and Contraception.
- Hypertension Management
- Health promotion
- New Patient Medicals / Urinalysis
- Learning Disability Checks
- Cytology
- Wound care
- Removal of Sutures
- Travel Risk assessment, immunisations and advice
- Venepuncture
- Routine injections.
- Childhood immunisations.
About us
Beaumont Park Medical Group provides primary care services
to over 6,500 patients, with three long standing GP Partners, working alongside
a multi-disciplinary clinical team including Advanced Practitioner, Practice
Nursing and HCA Team, Pharmacy Team, First Contact Physio, Frailty Nurse and
Social Prescriber.
The clinicians are supported by a Reception, Administration
and Secretarial Team.
In the 2024 National GP Patient Survey, we scored highly for
our patient's overall experience of the practice.
We are a member of Whitley Bay Primary Care Network, and aim
to be a training practice in 2026, providing training opportunities for doctors
in training.

- Management of long-term conditions: involvement, implementing and using protocols and clinical guidelines
- Work with patients to support compliance with, and adherence to, prescribed treatments
- Health promotion and NHS health checks
- Urinalysis
- Venepuncture according to local guidelines
- Blood pressure / hypertension reviews / Ischaemic Heart Disease reviews
- Routine adult and child injections and immunisations
- Initiate, perform and interpret diagnostic procedures as appropriate for chronic disease management
- Womens health checks including contraception, sexual health and cervical cytology
- Support recall procedures, appropriate literature and health promotion, and audit
- Adherence to infection control policies
- Ability to monitor and manage maintenance of stock and equipment to include refrigeration, single use equipment and general treatment room equipment
- Maximise Quality Outcomes Framework income
- To take responsibility for own professional development and undertaking training for specific clinical tasks
- Attend mandatory training courses and updates and any study days as appropriate to post
- Participate in appraisal, personal development plan and revalidation
