We currently have a part time vacancy for a new member of staff to join us as a Healthcare Assistant working 20 - 22 hours over four working days.Working days will include Monday's and Friday's.
You will be joining us at an exciting time, as we look to relocate to a new build site in 2026, not far from our current site.
The practice is open between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide a range of Healthcare Assistant duties including (but not limited to)
- Phlebotomy
- Injections and vaccinations [B12, Flu, Covid etc]
- Chronic Disease Management initial information gathering
- New patient health checks
- NHS Health checks
- Blood pressure checks,
- Diabetic Foot Screening.
About us
Beaumont Park Medical Group provides primary care services to over 6,400 patients, with three long standing GP Partners, working alongside a multi-disciplinary clinical team including Advanced Practitioner, Practice Nursing and HCA Team, Pharmacy Team, First Contact Physio, Frailty Nurse and Social Prescriber.
The clinicians are supported by a Reception, Administration and Secretarial Team.
In the 2024 National GP Patient Survey, we scored highly for our patient's overall experience of the practice.
We are a member of Whitley Bay Primary Care Network, and aim to be a training practice in 2026, providing training opportunities for doctors in training.

Job summary:
Working under the direct supervision of the Partners and
strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the
Healthcare Assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision
and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.
- Duties and responsibilities: Clinical
- New patient health checks
- Blood Pressure checks
- Phlebotomy
- Urinalysis
- Weight check / BMI recording
- Smoking cessation advice
- Administration of Flu vaccinations and Vitamin B12
injections in line with patient specific direction
- Supporting Practice Nurses when required.
- Other health checks (i.e. well person checks)
- Participation in general health promotion and lifestyle
advice
- Act as chaperone as required
- Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by
GPs/nurses
- Any other duties and responsibilities appropriate to this
post as delegated by the Nurse Practitioner or GPs
Administration and Professional Responsibilities:
- Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
- Organisation of the restocking and maintenance of clinical
areas and consulting rooms
- Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before,
during and after patient care interventions
- Conduct monthly / annual stock take and submission or
records to assist the Practice Manager
- Calibration and quality control of clinical electrical
equipment
- Attend and participate in Practice Clinical and other
meetings as required
