Job summary

You will be joining our practice in Aylesford to work alongside our clinical and admin team to provide direct and indirect patient care to our registered patients. You will play a large role in working with the team to help them enact new initiatives and roll out innovation across the practice. There will be opportunities to further progress your career depending on the needs of the organisation and your own interests. You will always have the support of a GP partner as and when required. We will help you to practice efficiently, further develop your clinical skills and competencies in a safe environment. You will be trusted to work within your own clinical competency. You will be consulting with patients through a mixture of face to face, online and telephoneconsultations. There will be some admin work required including but not limited to: results,prescriptions, and actioning documents.

We are currently in the process of applying to become a Tier 2 Sponsorship Practice.

Provide best in class patient care to our patients in your clinics.Drive quality to improve the health of all registered patients along with colleagues.Support your colleagues and patients in rolling out and implementing new ways of working.Help us to foster a collaborative, ambitious and innovative culture so we can build the best primary care service in the UK; a service which exceeds the expectations for patients and clinicians.

Job description

Job responsibilities

To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

The following are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population

The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract

Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance

Effective management of long-term conditions

Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks

On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles

Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance

Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload

Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process

Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice

Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) for QOF

Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required

Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including; clinical governance, training, financial management and HR

Ensure compliance with the appraisal process

Prepare and complete the revalidation process

Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team

Support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines

Support the directors in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure

Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times

Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times

Participate in practice audits as requested by the audit lead

Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care

Participate in the review of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approach i.e. root cause analysis (RCA)
