Job summary

St Marks Medical Centre is a CQC rated Good and accredited teaching practice for GP trainees located in Plumstead in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking Receptionist to join our friendly and supportive practice team and assist in providing and maintaining high standards of patient care, as well as helping with general administrative work. Experience preferred in practice setting or customer services.

Working hours would be Monday, Tuesdays & Friday 12.30 - 18.30.

Main duties of the job

Duties will include undertaking general office and reception duties incorporating front desk, telephone and email, ensuring that such duties are carried out in an effective, efficient and professional manner. A team player, the successful candidate will posses good communications, people and IT skills and will work collaboratively with the clinical team of 4 partners, 2 salaried GP's and 3 practice nursres.

Local population of approx 10,000 patients. A consisttently high scoring QOF practice with a high staff retention rate and employee job satisfaction.

All staff will be required to partake and complete mandatory training as directed by the training coordinator, as well as participating in the practice training programme. Staff will also be permitted (subject to approval) to undertake external training courses which will enhance their knowledge and skills, progress their career and ultimately, enable them to improve processes and service delivery. Collaborative Working All staff are to recognise the significance of collaborative working. Teamwork is essential in multidisciplinary environments. Effective communication is essential and all staff must ensure they communicate in a manner which enables the sharing of information in an appropriate manner. Service Delivery Staff at St Marks PMS must adhere to the information contained with practice policies and regional directives, ensuring protocols are adhered to at all times. Staff will be given detailed information during the induction process regarding policy and procedure. - 3 - Security The security of the practice is the responsibility of all personnel. Staff must ensure they remain vigilant at all times and report any suspicious activity immediately to their line manager. Under no circumstances are staff to share the codes for the door locks to anyone and are to ensure that restricted areas remain effectively secured.
