Care Navigator (Receptionist)

Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for the right person to join our amazing reception / care navigation team at Dunsville Medical Centre. This is a permanent contract subject to a mutual probation period. We have 37.5 hours (full time) but would be happy to separate these between 2 candidates, please ensure your preference is noted in your application. We are ideally looking for a receptionist who would like to learn and cover other admin roles within the practice which may allow the candidate the opportunity to diversify and expand their knowledge.

Main duties of the job

Our reception / care navigators take calls and online requests from patients. The patients are then directed to the most appropriate clinician or alternative service. They also deal with prescription requests and and other enquiries, both on the telephone and over the counter. We are looking for a staff member who has exceptional inter personal skills and is able to deal with challenging circumstances calmly and efficiently. We would like the successful candidate to learn and support other administration tasks within the practice.

About us

Dunsville Medical centre is a well established GP practice in North East Doncaster. We have a stable patient base of around 7000. We have a very good relationship with our patients and the wider health community. We are open Monday to Friday and provide extended access to patients across our area on Saturdays.

You will provide face-to-face and telephone support to our patients, working alongside our friendly reception, administrative and clinical teams to ensure patients receive the best possible experience. The ideal candidate will have a wider knowledge (or happy to learn) of general practice and the associated administrative roles.

The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing care navigation, including assisting patients to access the most appropriate service.

  • Carrying out general office and administrative duties, including filing, photocopying, scanning and dealing with incoming correspondence.
  • Supporting the wider reception and clinical team to ensure smooth day-to-day running of the practice.
