Job summary

The successful candidate will provide effective and robust leadership to enable the practice to meet its agreed aims and objectives within a challenging NHS landscape. They will maintain a profitable, efficient, and safe working environment, whilst nurturing effective teamwork among staff and ensuring the practice remains responsive to our patients. Meeting our contractual obligations with NHS England is paramount, as well as maintaining full compliance with all aspects of health and safety and employment legislation, CQC (Care Quality Commission) regulations and facilities management compliance. They will lead projects, as well as working with the partners and the business manager to oversee practice finances, cash flow and budgets.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will demonstrate robust and conscientious leadership skills, whilst proactively managing all areas of the practice including human resources and IT systems. They will monitor and analyse practice performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to optimise operational efficiency and performance. As primary care continues to change and evolve, they will need to be flexible and adaptive to the changes in practice functionality which are required in this role. The successful candidate would also need to be motivated, and able to multitask and work under the pressure that is demanded of this role.

The successful candidate will also need to represent the practice externally in a professional manner, fostering positive and responsive relationships with patients, community organisations and Healthcare Partners. They will be a core part of the practice leadership team, and be required to participate in strategic planning initiatives to support the growth and development of the practice.

Experience in managing an organisation in primary care or another strategic aspect of the NHS is desirable. A leadership or management qualification is preferred.

You will have the support of a Finance Manager plus an Assistant Practice Manager for both financial managment and day to day operations.

About us

We are a 9700 patient practice with 3 partners (GP and Clinical Pharmacist) GMS practice based in Southborough, located between Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.

We have an enthusiastic and skilled multidisciplinary team who we are very proud of. The team comprises of 7 GP's (partners and salaried), our paramedic practitioner, advanced nurse practitioner, our own clinical pharmacist and pharmacy technician (as well as our ARRS staff), GPA, practice nursing team, HCA and phlebotomist, as well as our large reception and administrative team.

We are a training practice and host junior doctors as well as medical students and nursing students.

We are forward thinking practice with an excellent QOF achievement.
