Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated
and committed Practice Nurse, with excellent communication
skills to join the team. Our practice is built on
the principles of providing friendly, caring and compassionate healthcare to
all.We are an EMIS Web based practice, serving around 9800 patients in
and around Southborough. We are looking to cover a minimum of 12 hours of nursing time, and Practice Nurse experience is essential.
Main duties of the job
Job summary:
The post holder must work as part of
a team, have the ability to organise and prioritise their own workload on a day
to day basis, and observe strict rules about confidentiality at all times.
They must have previous experience of
working in primary care. You will be required to undertake full treatment room
duties, including immunisations, dressings, removal of sutures, cervical smear
taking and anti-coagulation. Experience in additional areas including long term conditions (e.g. diabetes, asthma, COPD), travel
immunisations and family planning are desirable.
Working strictly in accordance with
specific practice or national guidelines, the Practice Nurse will assist the
practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes
of patient care.
The post holder must maintain
registration with NMC, maintaining its Code of Conduct to protect the public
through professional standards. Fulfil its learning requirements.
We are looking to cover a minimum of 12 hours of
nursing time, which can be relatively flexible in how it is delivered, but will likely need to cover some time on Thursdays and/or Fridays.
Additional hours may be required to
cover annual leave and sickness, so flexibility is important.

Medical Centre is situated between Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge, we are
surrounded by beautiful rural country side, and in 2021 we moved
into a brand new purpose built
Medical centre within the new Southborough Community Hub. As a result we have
state of the art facilities and we are looking to expand our already extensive
multi-disciplinary team!
Currently, our multi-disciplinary
clinical team is made up of 4 Partners (3 GP and a Clinical Pharmacist), 4
salaried GPs, 1 Paramedic Practitioner, 1 ANP, 2 highly experienced Practice
Nurses, an HCA, Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and a GPA. All are
supported by a dedicated admin team. In addition we do minor surgery and
contraception services, and have the benefit of visiting specialists who run
ophthalmology and ENT clinics out of our surgery.
