We have a vacancy for part time or full time Dispensary Lead/Medicines Manager to join our team at our surgeries located at Long Sutton and Sutton Bridge in Lincolnshire and border Cambridgeshire and Norfolk.

Main duties of the job

As a Dispensary Lead/Medicines Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the dispensary and medicines management services. Youll work closely with GPs, the nursing team, and practice administration to ensure our patients receive high-quality pharmaceutical care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense medication accurately and in line with legal requirements and best practice
  • Lead on medicines management processes, including stock control, repeat prescribing, and medication audits
  • Support clinicians with prescription queries and optimise prescribing efficiency
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure full compliance with CQC, NHS, and GPhC standards
  • Supervise and support dispensary staff
  • Organise Rotas and annual leave etc
  • Liaise with patients regarding medication queries in a professional and compassionate manner
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of prescribing safety and cost-effectiveness

  • * NVQ Level 2 (or higher) in Pharmacy Services or equivalent dispensing qualification (essential)
  • * Previous experience working in a dispensing role, ideally within a GP practice or community pharmacy
  • * Strong knowledge of medicines management in primary care
  • * Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
  • * Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • * Strong IT and organisational skills
  • * A proactive, solution-focused approach

Desirable

  • * Experience using clinical systems (EMIS, SystmOne) preferably EMIS.
  • * Supervisory or leadership experience
