Job summary

We are looking for a Medical Coder to join our busy GP Practice working within our Operations Team and taking responsibility for the coding relevant information into our patients' healthcare records using the EMIS Web clinical system.

We provide services to over 17,000 patients in Bicester and the surrounding areas and are growing fast, our Operations Team is key to the smooth running of the practice.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities include:

  • Accurately read-coding data onto patient records
  • Identifying clinical information, coding appropriately and completing detailed actions
  • Scanning of patient documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients' healthcare records
  • Amending and / or making additions to medical records to ensure that correct and complete information is each patients' electronic record
  • Additional ad hoc tasks within the team as required

Previous experience in a medical setting is essential, along with these skills:

  • Accurate with excellent attention to detail
  • Organised and able to prioritise a busy and changing workload
  • Experience of administrative work
  • Flexible with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Discrete and able to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
