Job summary

We are a well established friendly small rural GP Surgery seeking a dedicated Medical Secretary to join our healthcare team.

Our surgery achieved excellent scores in the 2025 National GP Patient Survey, which was the highest in Kent and was amongst the best in the country.

Please Note: This role is a part-time involving 4 hours per day for 4-5 days between Monday - Friday - plus additional cover for sickness and annual leave. Additional hours may be available to cover the reception.

Job description

Job responsibilities

To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties and the provision of administrative support to the multidisciplinary team.

Duties can include, but are not limited to, the processing of information (electronic and hard copy) in a timely manner, completing and sending referral letters and forms.

To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multi-disciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers in accordance with current policies, including the use of the electronic referral service (ERS).
