An exciting opportunity has arisen
for an experienced, motivated, and hardworking individual to join our team as
Clinical Coder/Summariser.
To be a member of the Practice Team,
to summarise and code relevant information using codes from patients' clinical
records into the Practice computer system. To extract information from patients
notes and enter it onto their digital record, displaying any significant
medical problems prominently so it is obvious to any healthcare professional
using the record. To ensure all incoming and internal patient correspondence is
stored in the patients record and all relevant information is correctly and
accurately coded. To carry out administrative related tasks as delegated by the
Practice Manager, and to provide support and cover to other admin
colleagues during absence or sickness.
Main duties of the job
Scan and recode electronic and hard
copy clinical correspondence in accordance with the practice protocol and
timescales.
Read code electronic and hard copy
clinical correspondence within agreed timescales.
Read code information into the
practice clinical system when appropriate.
Oversee the distribution of results
in line the practice protocol.
Ensure data entry adheres to current guidelines.
Sorting and organising patient
records and letters in chronological order in preparation for summarising.
Summarise incoming electronic and
hard copy medical records in accordance with the practice summarising protocol
File paper records once summarisation
is complete.
Communicate with clinical staff
regarding any coding issues.

supportive and friendly team led by our three partners and our practice manager. In addition to the Partners our clinical team consists of a Physician Associate, 2 Practice Nurse's and a Health Care Support Worker.
