Job summary

We are seeking a dedicated GP to join our innovative practice as a 5-6 session GP Partner. Our practice, spanning two sites, is led by four partners and serves approximately 11,800 patients in North East Cardiff. As a training facility, we actively engage in Undergraduate teaching and Postgraduate training.

Main duties of the job

  • Delivering high-quality, compassionate, and evidence-based clinical care to patients
  • Participating in leadership and strategic decision-making, contributing to the future direction of the practice
  • Supporting the development and supervision of clinical and non-clinical staff
  • Taking an active role in the management of the practice, including clinical governance, quality improvement, and financial sustainability
  • Engaging in and supporting teaching and training of undergraduate medical students and GP registrars
  • Contributing to achievement of QAIF and Enhanced Services
  • Representing the practice in local cluster meetings and wider health board initiatives
  • Participating in duty sessions, on-call rota, and home visits as required

Experience

We are looking for a GP who:

  • Is GMC-registered with full licence to practice and on the GP Performers List
  • Is passionate about general practice and committed to providing high-quality patient-centred care
  • Has strong clinical, organisational, and communication skills
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm for teamworking and collaborative practice
  • Is proactive and forward-thinking, with an interest in innovation and continuous improvement
  • Ideally has experience or interest in clinical teaching and training

Overview

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic GP to join our friendly and forward-thinking team as a GP Partner, working 56 sessions per week. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role in a well-established, supportive, and innovative practice in North East Cardiff.

You will work closely with the existing partnership team to provide excellent patient care, contribute to strategic decisions, and help shape the future of the practice. Applications from newly qualified GPs expecting to complete training this year are welcome.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based clinical care to patients during in-person and remote consultations.

  • Manage a range of clinical conditions independently and safely.

  • Take part in the duty doctor rota, including home visits where necessary.

  • Contribute to the management and leadership of the practice as a partner, including involvement in clinical governance, QI initiatives, and business planning.

  • Support and supervise clinical staff including nurses, HCAs, and trainees.

  • Participate in teaching and training of medical students and GP registrars.
