Main duties of the job

As part of the nursing team, you will help care for our community by:

  • obtaining blood samples
  • conducting electrocardiograms (ECGs)
  • chronic disease management
  • travel health advice and vaccinations
  • child immunisations and advice
  • family planning and womens health including cervical smears
  • mens health screening
  • auditing data to inform processes

Job responsibilities

Practice Nurse

Plas Meddyg Surgery provides excellent care to a population of approximately 10,600 patients. We are a training practice with six partners, three salaried GPs, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, and two existing Practice Nurses. We have a supportive, reliable administration team and a friendly, welcoming reception team. Due to succession, we are now looking for a dynamic, organised and enthusiastic Practice Nurse to join our team.

We are located in the heart of historic Ruthin, Denbighshire with easy access to the North Wales Expressway and neighbouring city of Chester. Wed welcome candidates who want to look around the practice, meet the team and familiarise themselves with our beautiful location.

As a successful post holder, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary primary health care team ensuring the delivery of safe and effective general nursing care to the practice population within your capabilities.

As a Practice Nurse, you will undertake treatment room duties such as immunisations including adult and child vaccinations, provide travel health immunisations and advice, provide sexual health and contraception advice as well as hold long term conditions reviews. You will also take part in practice audits.

You will be passionate about the health and wellbeing of our patients and you will work collaboratively with our staff in order to deliver high quality services to our patient population.

The suitable candidate will be a registered nurse; experience working in General Practice is desired but not a compulsory requirement.

Pay rate will be subject to qualifications and experience.
