Main
duties of the job
We are looking for a Dietitian who is keen to work in this fast paced
environment as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will:
See
patients in a clinic setting and manage your own waiting lists
Have
a regular community outpatient clinic in the outside health community and
be a full part of the dietetic clinical community team.
Develop
weight management groups - which may be run on an ongoing basis by the
postholder or a Therapy Assistant with appropriate supervision by the
postholder.
Scope
the possibility of group education for patients with Diabetes
Work
with the catering team to meet the nutritional needs of men on special
diets
Write,
monitor and update relevant processes, pathways and guidelines
Train
other members of the healthcare team as necessary.
Be
involved in service improvement
Have
the opportunity to engage in research
Contribute to supporting the
smooth running of the Primary Care Network.
Attend
meetings as required and any other local or regional meetings as requested
by the PCN Manager or Clinical Director.
Attend
meetings with the other PCN ClinicalTeam for the purpose of reviewing the
departmental activity and sharing general information.

within the workplace, including fire procedures, maintaining documentation,
monitoring and maintaining of equipment and furniture within their area of

Use the computer monitor safely.
Service improvement
Work with colleagues in the team on the development of
current and new services and other initiatives;
Work closely with the whole PCN team at Southend East PCN.
Quality
Alert other team members to issues of quality and risk
in the care of patients;
Ensure own actions are consistent with clinical
governance systems;
Know the organisations policies, especially the
whistle-blowing policy, available in the practice staff handbook;
Be able to manage their own time effectively.

Attend annual updates and mandatory training as required;
Highlight any gaps in knowledge/training needs to
their line manager to allow them the opportunity to offer support in order to
fulfil the duties of this post;
Act
in a manner that safeguards children and/or vulnerable adults as applicable to
the role;
Work in line with organisational policies and
procedural guidelines.

Requirements:
a. has a BSc or pre-reg MSc in Dietetics under a
training programme approved by the British Dietetic Association (BDA);
b. is a registered member of the Health and Care
Professionals Council (HCPC);
c. is able to operate at an advanced level of practice;
and
d. has access to appropriate clinical supervision and
an appropriate named individual in the PCN to provide general advice and
support on a day to day basis
