Job summary

Southend East PCN is looking for a band 7 Podiatrist, to work alongside a multitude of staff, including Paramedics, Pharmacists and Physiotherapists. Southend East PCN has its own premises in Shoebury - Norton Place, which the staff work from. Onsite parking and easy transport links means getting here is easy. The PCN has two clinical directors who are supported by a well established team to provide clinical support and supervision, and also an administration team who can provide opportunities for training.

To be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of the foot in Diabetes, with the aim of preventing long term complications.

To be responsible for providing a high standard of patient focussed quality care by assessing, diagnosing and developing specialised and complex care programmes for patients with diabetes and additional complications/co-morbidities.

To be actively involved with evidence-based audit projects to develop and enhance personal and team clinical practice within each rotation.

  • Attend meetings as required and any other local or regional meetings as requested by the PCN Manager or Clinical Director.
  • Attend clinical meetings with the other PCN team members for the purpose of reviewing the departmental activity and sharing general information.

About us

Southend East PCN is located at Norton Place in Shoebury, along Ness Road. We have our own PCN building which is extremely active and is in use by our 5 member practices in the local area. We cover approx 37,000 patients and offer a range of appointments from our wide range of staff, fully utilising the ARRS budget. Our team consists of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, social prescribers, health trainers, paramedics, physiotherapists and assistant practitioners. We have 2 clinical directors who are partners in two local surgeries, and an operations manager to provide support wherever needed. We have a strong digital presence and have employed a Digital Transformational Lead, to help our PCN network with other businesses and mature over time.

  • Registered with the HCPC
  • Has a BSc or pre-reg MSc in Podiatry under a training programme approved by the College of Podiatry;
