Job summary
An exciting new opportunity has arisen in Southend East Primary Care Network. The PCN team is looking to expand on its already broad clinical team. Our PCN is heavily focused on development and training of staff, with a monthly teaching session at one of the practices, and with other practices fully integrated with our PCN, there is a lot of scope for development and progression. Our PCN has key relations with secondary care providers, and community providers in the health and voluntary sectors, allowing for a greater integration of work.
Main duties of the job

Working under the supervision of a doctor as part of a medical team
Have direct contact with patients, taking medical histories, carrying out physical examinations, updating records
Make diagnoses, analyse test results, and deliver treatment
Support clinical care for people with long term conditions
Consider prescribing and other necessary clinical interventions
Work to a professional code of ethics
Provide varied support and show flexibility in your role
Show a caring attitude towards patients
Have well-developed communication skills to provide treatment plans.
You will be required to engage effectively with PCN teams, practice staff and external/internal stakeholders to support delivery of your key performance measures. This will require an inclusive, transparent, open approach to your role, where you are happy to be accountable to others, but can also lead by example. You will be passionate about our business, creating a high-performance culture that delivers exemplary patient care.
About us
Southend East PCN is located at Norton Place in Shoebury, along Ness Road. We have our own PCN building which is extremely active and is in use by our 5 member practices in the local area. We cover approx 37,000 patients and offer a range of appointments from our wide range of staff, fully utilising the ARRS budget. Our team consists of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, social prescribers, health trainers, paramedics, physiotherapists and assistant practitioners. We have 2 clinical directors who are partners in two local surgeries, and an operations manager to provide support wherever needed. We have a strong digital presence and have employed a Digital Transformational Lead, to help our PCN network with other businesses and mature over time.
