Job summary
Fownhope Medical Centre has an exciting opportunity for a Dispenser to
work at our friendly rural surgery (negotiable up to 37.5 hours a week).
Applications are welcomed from people with an NVQ2 Dispensing
qualification, or who are un-qualified but have a desire to work within a
busy dispensary. In this case support
towards qualification will be provided after satisfactory completion of a
probationary period.
Experience in customer service, particularly in the health sector is
desirable.
Main duties of the job
The purpose of the role is to assist in the
smooth running of the dispensary and to dispense medications as requested by
the senior dispenser. Main duties
include:
Serving patients at the hatch and by telephone
Stock management for medication and consumables
Counting and checking prescriptions for
submission to the PPA
Issuing repeat scripts
Preparing medications for blister packs

- Stock and operate the PharmVend dispensary machine
General
- Assist in promoting and maintaining own and others health and safety and security
- Promote the good reputation of the surgery
- Maintain strict confidentiality on all matters relating to patients, carers, colleagues, other health workers and the business of the practice
