Please be aware this is a network role and will be primarly based at the PCN base, Netherley Health Centre with the expectation that the role will sometimes go to it's member practices.

This role is advertised on Oak Vale Medical Centres NHS Jobs platform for the purpose of supporting the recruitment of this role. The role will be employed by iGPc PCN not the practice.

Starting salary between £50,952 and £68,525 depending on experience. Candidates that fulfill the requirements and have experience in strategic planning and strategic management will be considered for the higher bracket.The role will present with development opportunities for the right candidate.

The role requires a manager and leader who can provide strategic direction whilst being able to deliver hands-on service delivery and workforce management. Key expectations of the role include contract management, financial management, business management, project management, delivery of services, workforce and digital development, through assessment of clinical skill-mix and development of a network workforce strategy.

The role will be supported by the Clinical Director, the Board of Directors and a senior management team.

The post holder will be the pivotal part to the organisation who will be the network ambassador and will be the supporter of each of the practice voices within the network.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work with clinical and operational teams within a Primary Care Network (PCN) to create and maintain vision to guide service improvements, identify opportunities to make tangible positive transformation, and provide the inspiration, resource and tools to deliver changes in a collaborative way.

The post holder will plan, coordinate and directly support delivery of transformation activity in general practice within a PCN with a view to improving patient access, staff and patient satisfaction, and the efficiency and sustainability of general practice services.

The post holder will work closely with staff working at practice and PCN level to understand current service models, identify challenges, agree priorities for improvement and then support these to be delivered.

The post holder will develop relationships with ICSs to gain agreement and support for local transformation plans and activity, and to support alignment with broader strategy, including the ICSs digital strategy. Working with relevant colleagues in the ICS, the post holder will also develop relationships with local delivery partners (such as IT service providers and other NHS organisations) to support effective delivery of transformation.

The remit of this role is broad and evolving and will require attention to detail in the delivery of high-quality workforce management, strategic management and day-to-day operational management of the network.

The post holder will work closely with the practices in the development of all high-level financial and business matters, maximising income, and business opportunities. They will act as a champion for the network and encourage and support all staff in the network to engage in the process. They will work with other PCNs to identify areas of common concern or potential collaborative working to improve the resilience of general practice and sustain local services as well as identify and meet the support needs of the practice in the network.

The post holder will attend and represent the network and Clinical Director at relevant meetings to ascertain a wider knowledge of proposals for change in terms of delivery of health care systems across the PCN/practice and feedback as appropriate.

  • Evidence of continued professional development

  • Leadership programme/study or evidence of practical application of leadership expertise at this level
  • Project Management Qualification or Equivalent Experience
