Main duties of the job
- Undertake basic clinical observations (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation)
- Perform venepuncture and collect specimens (urine, swabs, etc.)
- Carry out ECGs
- Assist in chronic disease monitoring (e.g., asthma, COPD, diabetes reviews)
- Support health promotion and lifestyle advice (diet, smoking cessation, weight management)
- Conduct NHS Health Checks
- Ensure infection prevention and control standards are maintained at all times
- Accurately record patient data in clinical system (SystmOne).
- Prepare and maintain clinical areas and equipment.
- Ensure adequate stock levels of clinical supplies.
- Participate in recall systems for patients with long-term conditions.
- Assist in maintaining practice infection control audits and health & safety checks.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Health Care Assistant to join our nursing team. You will work under the supervision of the nursing team and GP partners to provide high-quality, patient-centred care. The post-holder will support the delivery of nursing services within the practice, undertaking clinical and administrative tasks in line with competency, training, and agreed protocols.
The role is for 37 hours per week but could be split between two people who are wishing to take on part time hours.
