Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Salaried GP who qualifies under the ARRS scheme (newly qualified within the last two years and without a substantive post). If you would like clarification on eligibility, please do get in touch.

Kenyon Medical Centres are looking for a newly qualified GP on a 12-month fixed term salaried contract working 4-6 sessions per week.

This post is suitable for fully qualified GPs only Applications from training doctors or applicants without full GP registration will not be considered.

Main duties of the job

The GP will undertake a variety of duties governed by the GMS contract and objectives of Enhanced services, including:

  • Face to Face consultations
  • Telephone consultations
  • Triage calls
  • AccuRx
  • Home visits
  • Care Home ward rounds
  • Checking and signing repeat prescriptions
  • Clinical administration
  • Dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence as required
  • Assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients appropriately

Job responsibilities

Clinical and administrative responsibilities:

  • Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
  • Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
  • Cover all the clinical management of the patients in surgery as appropriate including initiating investigations, reviewing results, making referrals to secondary care or to other providers as appropriate.
  • Develop care and treatment plans in consultation with patients
  • Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
  • Check, read and interpret pathological results for patients
  • Ensure appropriate follow-up of patients
  • Record clear and contemporaneous computerised consultation notes to agreed standards.
  • Participate in clinical audits, and learning event analysis and practice meetings.
  • Ensure that practice clinical database is updated promptly and accurately with information relating to patient records as required for clinical accuracy and for practice recording requirements under QOF and enhanced services.
  • Appropriate use of coding.
  • Compile and issue acute and repeat prescriptions.
  • Prescribe appropriately and in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary, NICE guidance and Good Prescribing Practice
  • Participate in team meetings.

  • Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice and entry and the GP Register (Certificate of completion date must be within 2 years and not having held a substantive post before)
  • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice/Certificate of Confirming Eligibility for General Practice Registration (CEGPR) or equivalent
