Job summary
We are a small GP Practice based in S11. We have approximately 4000 patients.
We are looking for a flexible and enthusiastic GP Assistant to join our friendly team.
The position is for 10 hours per week - Thursday and Friday.
Plus sickness and holiday cover.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant with have excellent customer service skills.
Ability to help cover Reception if necessary.
General Practice experience preferred but not essential as full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
We are looking for a permanent member of staff.
The post is subject to the receipt of satisfactory references and DBS check.

Job responsibilities
Main duties of the job
- Understanding and sorting incoming patient letters (either via post or email) to ensure that they are filed correctly and any that require action with the GP/Pharmacist are flagged in a timely manner for action.
- Scanning and filing all patient information into the patients computerised records
- Data entry of relevant patient information from incoming letters, tests and reports (e.g. looking for diagnoses, investigations, results, history, medication etc.).
- Recalling and administration for some long-term condition reviews and QOF
- Chase up information from 3rd parties that relate to presenting patients.
- Access GP Browser and other 3rd party systems to support care and navigation of patients.
- Working according to practice protocols
- Dealing with telephone and online enquiries relating to all the above tasks.
- Attending staff meetings as required
- Patient Registrations and deductions
- Summarising patient records
- Help to cover reception if required
