Job summary

We are a friendly, forward thinking, wellorganised teaching practice located in Newcastle under Lyme area with a list size of just over 8100 . We are looking for a caring, committed and enthusiastic Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our supportive team.This is an excellent opportunity for an ANP looking to work in a well-established practice that values continuity of care, teamwork, and staff wellbeing. Flexible working arrangements can be discussed, and we welcome applications from experienced ANPs as well as those newly qualified or returning to practice

Main duties of the job

The post holder should be able to work as a part of team and autonomously triage and prioritise patient needs and provide clinical treatment for patients in primary care setting. The ability to visit patients at home will be advantageous. Having excellent interpersonal skill is an essential requirement. Training will be provided if needed. There will be an opportunity for training to specialise in a chronic disease management.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Successful candidate will be responsible to provide high-quality, safe, and effective general medical services to the registered patient population of The Village Surgery. The post-holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary primary care team to deliver patient-centred care, promote health and wellbeing, and contribute to the ongoing development and sustainability of the practice.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary medical care to registered patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
  • Conduct face-to-face, telephone, and digital consultations as required
  • Manage acute illness, long-term conditions, and preventative care in line with national and local guidelines
  • Undertake home visits where appropriate
  • Prescribe safely and cost-effectively in accordance with practice and NHS policies
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical records using EMIS Web
  • Review and action laboratory results, correspondence, and clinical tasks in a timely manner
  • Participate in on-call arrangements appropriate to the role and agreed sessions
