Job summary
The role of the HCA is an essential part of
the Primary Care team.
In conjunction with other members of the
Primary Health Care team, to deliver care, health promotion, screening and
patient education in accordance with the practice guidelines and protocols.
To work with the nursing team to develop and
assess new initiatives designed to improve the patient experience.
To ensure effective use of resources
In collaboration with the Lead Practice Nurse
and Management to ensure cost effective ordering of drugs, vaccines, dressings
and surgical consumables
Main duties of the job
Long term health condition health checks / Diabetes
health check
ECG Recording
Venepuncture
Spirometry
Undertake wound care / dressings according to level
trained.
Removal of sutures / clips
Chaperoning GP's as required.
Setting up and assisting GP's with minor operations
and cleaning equipment.
Setting up and assisting GP's with IUCD insertions
and removals and adding appropriate recalls
Testing urine samples.
Processing and management of specimens.
Vaccine/cold chain storage monitoring and recording
in clinic rooms at both sites.
Clearing and restocking all consulting rooms,
re-ordering supplies for stock levels from Pathology department at the
hospital.

team and consists of 6 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, 1 ANPs,4 highly skilled
Nurses, 2 Clinical Pharmacists, 2 Pharmacy Technicians, Health and wellbeing
couch, practice care co-ordinator. We also have experienced Administrative and Healthcare
navigators.
