Job summary

We're an Advanced Nurse Practitioner Lead practice, based in Singlewell, Gravesend. We have an excellent team of dynamic and enthusiastic Advanced Nurse Practitioners that we cannot manage without.

Main duties of the job

  • 9700 patients and expanding, modern single site surgery, Accredited Training Practice
  • Option for Working From Home using teleworking
  • Clinical skill mix consists of 3 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses and 2 Partners, 2 Salaried General Practitioners
  • EMIS Web clinical system, telephone triage, video consulting and computerized decision support
  • Practice Pharmacist and Care Co-ordinators No wads of prescriptions and no spending time on complex referrals.
  • In house phlebotomy, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and event recording services
  • We are a friendly and genuinely democratic (because even the ones that aren't say they are) and collegiate practice with a flat decision making approach (no seniority or hierarchy) strong governance framework with regular programmed Complex Case, Significant Events, Complaints and CQC meetings.
  • We encourage extended interests, for example, our clinicians are Appraisers, Trainers, research editors for the BMJ, advisors to the MHRA and offer minor surgery and depot contraceptive services. We believe that more is more.

About us

Were always looking at trying new things we recently campaigned to deliver Covid vaccinations from our Surgery with the help of volunteers provided by our local MP, and the feedback was excellent, see our Facebook page (https://fb.watch/4iZxs8uhYH/). We also developed and published our own Thermometer Chart in response to patients enquiring when their turn would come just a few examples of going the extra mile and being more imaginative to help our patients.

Whether you can hold you won clinically is more important than whether you have a bit of paper e.g. an MSC/Post graduate diploma or equivalent. You'll hold advanced assessment skills which include history taking, clinical examinations, diagnosis and initiating programmes of care.
