Are you a newly qualified GP (within the last two years, without a substantive post) looking for an exciting and supportive role to launch your career? Raleigh Primary Care Network is seeking enthusiastic, forward-thinking GPs to join our team on a fixed-term salaried contract until 31 March 2025. We offer up to 4 sessions per week, with the possibility of contract extension once further guidance from NHSE is available.
Youll have the unique opportunity to work across our 4 practices, all of which are rated "Good" or "Outstanding" by the CQC, with one being a training practice. Main duties of the job
As a
GP with Raleigh Primary Care Network, you will play a vital role in delivering
patient care, following the GMS contract and Enhanced Services objectives. Key
responsibilities include:
Conducting
routine and urgent appointments, both face-to-face and via telephone, ensuring
high-quality care.
Prescribing
according to local and national guidelines.
Handling
home visits for routine and emergency cases.
Managing
administrative tasks, such as letters, results, referrals, and emails, in a
timely manner.
Making
appropriate referrals and managing related admin.
Checking
and signing repeat prescriptions to maintain care quality.
Providing
cover for colleagues in emergencies, considering individual commitments.
Participating
in on-call sessions as per pro-rata hours.
Supporting
Extended Hours services, enhancing patient access.
Collaborating
with other health and social care providers to deliver integrated care.
Maintaining
accurate consultation records using the S1 clinical system.
Offering
clinical support to colleagues, helping the team meet high standards in patient
care and QOF/Enhanced Services targets.
This

In accordance with the practice rota, as
agreed, the post-holder will be available to undertake a variety of duties
including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting
patients at home, checking and signing/authorising repeat prescriptions and
dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
Making professional, autonomous decisions
in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from
other health care workers within the organisation.
Assessing the
health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
Screening patients for disease risk factors
and early signs of illness in consultation with patients and in line with
current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for
health.
Providing
counselling and health education.
Admitting or discharging patients to and
from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
Recording clear
and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
Collecting data
for audit purposes.
Expectation to
complete a mandatory induction.
Compiling and
issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
Prescribing in accordance with the practice
prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
The post-holder will be required to visit
