Inspire Health has a hugely caring
and supportive nursing team who are keen to find the right Healthcare Assistant
to join them.
The
position is within a GP surgery setting working as part of a friendly team
covering 2 GP surgeries. The role requires the person to work independently taking
bloods in a clinic setting. There will be other clinical and administrative
aspects to the role which will require the candidate to be computer literate
and capable of learning new systems if not already familiar to them.
The candidate will support
the wider team with other clinical activities which may include taking and
acting on clinical observations, carrying out long term condition reviews and
giving lifestyle, dietary and statin advice. Wound care, removal of staples and
stitches, injections, blood pressure management and certain vaccinations are
also part of the role. There will also be stock management, chaperoning,
assisting with minor operations and coil clinics, equipment maintenance, safety
checks and occasional home visiting within this very varied role.
The ideal candidate would be warm, caring and efficient. Being a good
listener and receptive to change is essential in order to work effectively in
our team.
Main duties of the job
The ideal candidate
would be an experienced HCA who can demonstrate skills attained in a GP setting. Being able to do venepuncture is very
important alongside having the skills or willingness to learn to carry out long
term condition reviews, diabetic foot checks and giving dietary, lifestyle and
statin therapy advice.
Experience in sample
management, ambulatory and home blood pressure management alongside giving
vaccinations and injections would be of great benefit although not essential as
training can be giving.
The post holder will be working
independently in a fast-paced clinic environment. This will involve using
different computer systems with confidence.
They will support the
wider nursing team with other clinical skills such as measuring clinical
observations and reviewing home blood pressure readings and reporting
abnormalities to senior colleagues.
Other roles may include chaperoning, stock management, quality control
and cleaning of certain equipment. There may be the need for occasional home
visits so having a clean driving licence would be helpful.
As
a training practice the post holder will be required to support students from a
wide range of specialities who are training within the practice.
The post holder will train in
and follow national guidelines and local practice polices and there will be an
expectation the post holder will complete all mandatory training and
suitable continuing professional development in line with their role.
