Job responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Practice Nurse to join our established Nursing Team at Riverside Medical Centre for 24 hours per week.

Wednesday and Thursdays 8am-4pm, Friday 10am-6pm (hours are non-negotiable). Some overtime may be required to cover sickness or annual leave.

The successful candidate will hold NMC registration and must have a legal right to work in the UK, as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship. They will join our experienced team and work alongside a Nurse Manager, 3 Practice Nurses and 2 Healthcare Assistants. The Practice has a Multi-Disciplinary team which includes: Clinical Pharmacists, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Paramedics, Care Co-ordinators, Health and Wellbeing Coach, all supported by an expereienced administrative team.

We are located in the heart of Castleford and have strong links to the community while also working closely with other local practices through our Primary Care Network (PCN) We are a Safer Surgery, Veteran Friendly and hold a Good CQC rating. We are a training Practice which offers placements to GP Registrars, Medical Students and Student Nurses.

We are seeking a qualified Nurse who is enthusiastic, approachable, compassionate, organised , and confident to work unsupervised. An enhanced DBS check will be required for this position.

Duties include:

Phlebotomy

Blood pressure reviews

Smear tests

Child immunisations

ECG's

Removal of sutures

New pateints medical

Urinalysis

Attend and participate in training and meetings as required

Travel vaccinations

Family Planning

Assist with coil and minor surgery

Ear irrigation

Wound care

Injections and vaccinations

General nursing duties as required.

Experience of long-term condition management, respiratory in particular is desirable but not essential

As a member of our nursing team, you will be supported by a full complement of clinical and non-clinical staff. A basic knowledge of SystmOne would be an advantage but full training will be given.

Qualifications

Essential

• Qualified NMC Registered Nurse
• Able to work in the UK without Visa Sponsorship
• Applicants must hold current UK professional Registration

Desirable

• A Diploma in Long-term condition such as: Diabetes, COPD, Asthma, CVD is desirable
