Job summary

We are looking for a Deputy Practice Manager to join our GP Practice. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic, have a good grasp of IT and common software, good people skills including customer service. The successful candidate will receive full training, but previous financial experience would be advantageous.

The role requires twenty five hours per week, working 8am-1pm Monday to Friday. The hours are non negoatiable and not suitable for home working. Overtime may be required to cover annual leave and staff sickness.

Main duties of the job

Main responsibilities of the Deputy Practice Manager role:

To take responsibility for the management of the administration staff

To ensure all financial systems are run in effective and efficient manner.

To maintain clinical Services and appointments systems

To ensure effective administartive support

To manage all aspects of patient information

To investigate and manage all non-clinical complaints and concerns raised by patients and their representatives in line with Practice policies.

to maintain and update HR documents, policies, and procedures.

To provide appropriate assistance to the Practice Manager in all day-to-day activities and duties.

We are a busy GP Practice located in the heart of Castleford with good transport links and closely located to the main bus and train stations. Our team includes GP Partners, Salaried GP's, an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Nurses, Health Care Assistants, supported by various management, administrative staff and additonal roles.

The role of Deputy Practice Manager requires a self-motivated, disciplined individual to take ownership of the efficient day to day running of the Practice, supporting the Practice Manager and Partners, working as a key member of the Management Team.

The candidate should offer strong leadership with business, financial and people skills to continue to drive the Practice forward by identifying, and acting upon, practice and business oppurtunities. Ensuring contract obligations are met and provide updates to staff as required. You will be involved in a wide range of activites, including business planning, handlind financial systems (including payroll), supervising non-clinical staff. Developing and supervising the appointment system and their development, maintaining accurate records, liaising with the local Primary Care Network (PCN) and Integrated Care Board (ICB). You will also be responsible for developing strategies for the Practice on issues such as computer systems, security, HR, expanding services and long term services.
