Job summary

Come and join us as a GP in The Cornish Alps

perfectly situated in the middle of Cornwall between the north and south coasts

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit a caring, enthusiastic doctor who is a good team player and is as passionate about protecting general practice for the future as we are, to join our friendly and supportive practice as a partner or salaried GP for 6-8 sessions.

About us

  • Were semi-rural, 3 site dispensing practice with 13.5k patients
  • Four GP partners, a Clinical Pharmacist partner and 4 salaried GPs with an ACP, 2 paramedics, mental health practitioner, social prescriber, care co-ordinator and safeguarding care co-ordinator
  • Part of the dynamic & innovative Arbennek PCN
  • DN & CHC teams are in the same building
  • Opportunities for joint injections, minor surgery and contraception
  • Soon to be GP training practice
  • Our SystmOne clinical system links across our friendly PCN
  • And the freshly ground coffee is excellent

Job responsibilities

The job description is no different to anywhere else in General Practice. As a GP you will be expected to see patients, deal with the usual clinical paperwork and support the team.

The post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.

Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety.

  • - Not subject to suspension under section 41A of the Medical Act 1983
  • - Qualified General Practitioner (completed certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
  • - Currently on a performers list and not suspended from that list or from the medical register

Desirable

  • - Evidence of further postgraduate educational development e.g. MRCGP, DCH, DRCOG

Experience

Essential

  • - Recent experience of working as a GP/Locum practitioner in general practice in the UK.
  • - Commitment to and experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary and skill mixed team environment
  • - Experience of working to achieve standards within the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF)

Desirable

  • - Evidence of independent working in General Practice
  • - Experience of supporting service change
  • - Evidence of participation in Audit
