Job summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Salaried General Practitioner (GP) to join our dynamic primary care team for 4 sessions per week on Tuesdays and Fridays. This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centred care within a supportive and collaborative practice environment. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, allied health professionals, and administrative staff, to deliver comprehensive healthcare to our local community.

This role offers the chance to contribute to innovative patient care initiatives while developing your professional skills in a welcoming NHS setting.

Main duties of the job

Provide high-quality patient care

Conduct surgery, telephone, and video consultations, plus occasional home visits

Liaise with colleagues and external providers to ensure seamless care

Investigate and refer patients appropriately, in line with guidance

Review results and correspondence promptly

Provide cover for colleagues when required

Collect and review data for audit and QOF purposes

Maintain excellent communication with patients and carers

Attend clinical, governance, and educational meetings

Work collaboratively and effectively within the team

Manage your own workload and resources effectively

Attend required training events and feedback sessions

Report and follow up on significant incidents

Humberstone Medical Centre is a modern, purpose-built GP practice situated in the eastern part of Leicester. Established in 2007, it serves approximately 11,500 patients. The centre is part of the Salutem Primary Care Network, collaborating with other local practices to enhance patient care.

Training Practice

The practice is an accredited GP training practice, hosting 3 GPs in Trainingunder the supervision of experienced GP Trainers: Dr Than, Dr Kotecha, and Dr Bharkhada.

Collaborative Environment

As part of the Salutem Primary Care Network, Humberstone Medical Centre collaborates with four other local GP practices:

  • Downing Drive Surgery

  • East Leicester Medical Practice

  • Johnson Medical Practice

  • St. Elizabeth Medical Centre

Together, these practices serve a combined patient population of approximately 50,000. This network fosters a supportive and collaborative environment, enhancing patient care and professional development opportunities.

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • A vocational trained and accredited GP, preferably MRCGP Current registration with the GMC Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Ability to work with limited supervision. IT proficiency and familiarity with primary care clinical systems (the practice use TPP SystmOne). Excellent time keeping Exceptional team player

    Desirable

    • Good understanding of GMS contracting requirements and QoF Experience and an interest in a specific disease area
