Job summary

Due to reorganisation we have a vacancy to join our friendly reception team. We are open 8am 7pm Monday to Friday

This is a busy and demanding role that requires flexibility and the ability to think on your feet. We are looking for a team player who will thrive in a high-pressure environment. You should be reliable, have good time keeping skills and a strong work ethic.

Experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be given. An ability to cover for extra shifts (planned absences and to cover at short notice) is essential, although this is for 16 hours, applicant will be required to do more hours.

Main duties of the job

Job responsibilities

  • To welcome and direct patients and visitors on arrival.
  • To Care Navigate appointments to the correct clinician.
  • To liase with other health care professionals and take details information from patients when booking appointments.
  • To prepare clinical rooms in a morning ready clinicians to arrive and start their day.
  • Confidenet with IT and emails, Microsoft Word.
  • We use Emis Web and Docman 10 software but training can be given for these.
  • To open the premises, turn on computers in the reception area and open the waiting room.
  • To be responsible for answering general enquiries, explaining surgery procedures, making new and follow up appointments.
  • Receiving and recording requests for home visits and printing of patient summaries.
  • To update patient details e.g. change of address, in electronic and paper records.
  • To ensure information regarding unresolved matters is handed over to colleagues at the end of a shift.

About us

Hazeldene House Surgery is a friendly rural GP practice with 5 GP Partners and just over 7900 patients. We serve a number of surrounding villages as well as Great Haywood, including Hixon, Weston, Stowe-By-Chartley, Sandon, Colwich and Bishton.

We are a dispensing practice and have a Reception Team, Admin Team, Dispensing Team, Nursing Team, and several regular staff from the PCN (Practice Care Network) that are regularly running clinics as well we the Midwife and Diabetes Nurse Specialist clinics.

We have a great staff work family atmosphere and have regular team meetings and also out of hours walks if anyone wishes to attend, with their families and dogs. Walking through Shugborough and ending up and the local Wimpy in Milford.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Good standard of general education.
  • Grade C GCSE English and Maths or equivalent qualifications.
  • Experience in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
