Join our friendly and forward-thinking GP practice as a Pharmacy Technician and play a key role in supporting safe, efficient, and patient-centred care.
Were looking for an organised and motivated technician with excellent communication and problem-solving skills to help support our Practice Pharmacist to improve safety processes, and contribute to high-quality patient care.
You'll focus on monitoring compliance and supporting audits and prescribing projects such as QOF, CQC related indicators,and the Prescribing Incentive Scheme.

Main duties of the job
Support the Practice Pharmacist in developing and maintaining safe, effective prescribing and medicines management processes.
Monitor medication compliance and contribute to the safe management of high-risk drug monitoring.
Assist with audits and prescribing projects, including those linked to QOF, CQC indicators, and the Prescribing Incentive Scheme.
Undertake other duties and responsibilities as required to support the smooth running of the practice and delivery of high-quality patient care.

We are a friendly and welcoming GP Practice in the heart of Wallsend, North Tyneside. The practice is based from a modern and beautiful building, providing care to our 21,000 registered patients.
We have 20 GPs supported by an excellent multi-disciplinary team. We are also a teaching practice for Doctors in Training and medical students.

- Experience working as a Pharmacy Technician in a community, hospital, or primary care setting.
- Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, communicating effectively with clinicians and administrative staff.
- Proven ability to work independently and efficiently, managing workload and meeting deadlines.
Desirable
- Previous experience within a GP practice or Primary Care Network (PCN) environment.
- Involvement in prescribing audits, high-risk drug monitoring, or QOF/CQC-related projects.
- Experience supporting quality improvement or medication safety initiatives.
- Familiarity with EMIS Web or similar clinical systems.
- Experience mentoring or supporting the training of other pharmacy staff.

- Completion of or working towards a Primary Care or Medicines Optimisation qualification (e.g. CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway).
- Experience or training in clinical audit, prescribing safety, or medicines management.
- Knowledge of EMIS Web or similar GP clinical systems.
- Additional training in high-risk drug monitoring, repeat prescribing, or quality improvement initiatives.
