Job summary
We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic practice nurse to join our inclusive, friendly and forward-thinking team.
The advertised post is for 30 hours per week, however we are happy to consider applications from candidates who are interested in either full-time or part time employment.
Potential applicants are more than welcome to arrange an informal visit to the practice.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will undertake a range of nursing assessments and provide appropriate care in conjunction with GPs and practice nurses, or independently as appropriate for the need, according to practice policy and protocols.
The practice nurse will strive to improve standards of care and be involved in identifying practice population needs. Chronic disease management will form some part of the role as well as the day to day mentoring and support of our Health Care Assistants and other nursing team members. Experience and skills in the management of diabetes and/or respiratory conditions is desirable.
Additionally the successful candidate will be encouraged and supported to undertake any further training required to ensure appropriate role development.

We are a friendly and welcoming GP Practice in the heart of Wallsend, North Tyneside. The practice moved into a brand new, modern and beautiful building in December 2022, providing care to our 20,000 registered patients.
We have 20 GPs supported by an excellent multi-disciplinary team. We are also a teaching practice for Doctors in Training and medical students.
The practice is a member of the NHS Fleet Solutions lease scheme.

- Experience of providing contraceptive services including pill checks and depo provera injections

- Administering prescribed long-term medications/injections e.g. depixol/nebido/prostap
Desirable
