Duties and responsibilities:

New patient Health Checks

Long Term Conditions

Phlebotomy

Chaperoning duties

Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses

Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording

Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation

Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms

Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations

Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

• C and above in GCSE English and Maths or level 4 and above (or equivalent Adult Literacy and Numeracy).

Desirable

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English, and Mathematics
• NVQ level 2
• Care Certificate

Experience

Essential

• Experience of working within a nursing team / team
• Experience of working in a GP practice

Desirable

• Experience of working in primary care
• Experience of working in a GP practice
• Experience of venepuncture, injections, wound care, compression, dopplers, LTCs and health checks.
• Training can be given/ provided
