Job summary
An opportunity has arisen to join
our friendly, enthusiastic and progressive training practice in Prudhoe within the
Tyne Valley as a fixed term salaried GP.
Main duties of the job
The role involves all the
reasonable duties of a GP in our surgery - surgeries, home visits, duty dr and
other typical day to day GP tasks.
We run a standard appointment
system with a mixture of pre-bookable and on the day appointments in each
surgery.
Patients can choose appointment
type and we offer a full range of remote and online consultation methods.
On-call duty involves triaging
visit requests and any remaining on the day requests without an appointment. The
on-call is split into either a morning or afternoon session.
We run a flexible usual GP
system. Patients can choose who they see but continuity is valued and encouraged.
We encourage participation in
the practice time out sessions and ICB PLT sessions. We offer paid CPD in
addition to your annual leave entitlement and it is expected that CPD is done
in this time.

Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of
the Salaried GP. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other
tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing
levels:
a.
The
delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
b.
The
provision of services commensurate with the primary care contract
c.
Generic
prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
d.
Effective
management of long-term conditions
e.
Processing
of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription
requests and other associated administrative tasks
f.
On
a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles
g.
Maintain
accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and
guidance
h.
Work
collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
i.
Adhere
to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
j.
Contribute
to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality
initiatives within the practice
k.
Accept
delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF
l.
Attend
and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
m.
Contribute
effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical
governance and training
n.
Ensure
compliance with the appraisal process
