This is an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our clinical team as a Salaried GP (4-6 sessions depending on availability).

Prudhoe Medical Group is a growing Practice of 7,000 patients. We are a training and teaching practice for both GP registrars as well as students in Newcastle and Sunderland University.
We have a fully embedded and comprehensive additional roles scheme, which consists of Pharmacists, Pharmacy technicians, Physiotherapy, Mental health practitioners, Social Prescribers, Paramedic Practitioners, which enables our GPs and other health care professionals to dedicate to deliver the right care at the right time by the right person.

Main duties of the job
The role involves all the
reasonable duties of a GP in our surgery - surgeries, home visits, duty doctor and
other typical day to day GP tasks.
We run a standard appointment
system with a mixture of pre-bookable and on the day appointments in each
surgery. Our clinical system is Systm1.
Patients can choose appointment
type and we offer a full range of remote and online consultation methods.
On-call duty involves triaging
visit requests and any remaining on the day requests without an appointment.
The on-call is split into either
a morning or afternoon session and you will run this in parallel to your surgery.
We run a flexible usual GP
system. Patients can choose who they see but continuity is valued and encouraged.
Each session consists of 13 x 10 minute appointments.
Our morning sessions run from 830am and afternoon sessions from 230pm.
The practitioner would be expected to complete all associated admin relating to their patient list.
About us
The surgery is made up of 4 GP Partners, 2 salaried GPs (of which you would be one) and 1 full time GP registrar.
The GP team are supported by:
- ARRS staff as mentioned above
- 3 experienced practice nurses, 3 HCAs
- Highly skilled administrative team, secretaries, medicines manager, reception coordinator and practice manager.
We are part of the West Northumberland
PCN and GP federation and we operate under a PMS contract. We are really proud that we are a high QoF/IIF achieving surgery and have a outstanding CQC result.

Provide highly effective medical care to patients - to include clinical sessions, clinical admin and

Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance.
Work as a team member with all relevant providers of primary and community care services.
Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidelines.
Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process.
Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription
requests and other associated administrative tasks
Accept delegated responsibilities for QOF and commissioner improvement programmes.
Support the management team in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making
recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure.
Actively participate in local clinical governance processes.
Develop and maintain clinical skills and abilities through CPD and participate in yearly appraisal
to identify further education, training and development needs.
Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of
continuous improvement at all times.
Supervise and participate in the training of the nursing staff and other members of the clinical
team within the practice.
Participate in medical, nursing and allied professions student training.
Participate in practice audits as requested by the Practice.
