Dealing with all practice paperwork which includes referrals , prescriptions and reports

Job description

Job responsibilities

We are looking to recruit an experienced receptionist/administrator to project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone. Receive, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective way and undertake administrative work to suit the needs of the practice.

Main duties of the job

Ability to use EMIS Web for all functions of a receptionist/administrator role.

Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the practice.

Deal with all general enquiries.

Process personal and telephone requests for appointment, visits, and telephone consultations according to practice protocols and guidelines.

Receive and make telephone calls as required divert calls promptly and appropriately and take messages ensuring accuracy of details and prompt appropriate delivery.

Using your own judgment and communication skills ensure that patients with no prior appointment but who need urgent consultation are seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner.

Take and process prescription request from patients over the front counter in accordance with practice guidelines.

Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail, scanning.

Keeping reception area, notice boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter.

Undertake administrative tasks as required. Read coding, summarising, scanning, tasks, referrals. Training can be offered to the suitable right candidate for the job.

Computer data entry processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures.
