Job summary
Knebworth & Marymead Medical Practice is a modern, forward-thinking general practice operating across two well-established sites in Knebworth and South Stevenage, serving a diverse patient population of around 13,000 in both suburban and semi-rural settings.
We are a teaching and training practice, supporting GP trainees, medical students, nursing students, and other learners. We are looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive team for 8 sessions per week (full time).
This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed GP to deliver high-quality, personalised care across the full spectrum of general practice services, including acute care, chronic disease management, health promotion, and preventative medicine.
You will work closely with our skilled multidisciplinary team including GPs, advanced clinical practitioners, pharmacists, nurses, HCAs, and social prescribers to ensure our patients receive safe, effective, and timely care. We actively encourage professional development, portfolio working, and continuous learning for all team members.

Main duties of the job

Provide high-quality clinical care through telephone, online, and face-to-face consultations

Undertake assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients presenting with acute and long-term conditions

Manage patients with chronic diseases in line with QOF, local enhanced services, and best practice guidelines

Participate in triage work for incoming clinical requests

Support and supervise other clinicians, contributing to a culture of learning and teamwork

Our experienced administrative team supports clinicians by handling correspondence, processing medication changes, and completing a wide range of non-clinical tasks, allowing you to focus on patient-facing work.
We actively encourage GPs to contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement projects, and service development. You will take part in regular clinical meetings and have access to peer support and opportunities for collaborative case discussion. As a training practice, you may also be involved in supervising and supporting GP trainees and other learners, helping to shape the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Our practice makes extensive use of digital tools, including SystmOne, Accurx total triage, and Surgery Connect telephony, to streamline workflows and improve patient access.
