Job summary
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced receptionist with a background in General Practice or a comparable healthcare setting to join our reception team.
Our practice serves a large patient base of 10,000 and operates in a high-paced setting.
The successful candidate will be required to work five days a week, Monday through Friday, on a rotational schedule.
Main duties of the job
Main duties and expectations:
- Address patient inquiries with professionalism, politeness, and courtesy.
- Handle phone calls in a professional and efficient manner.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy while meeting deadlines.
- Process prescriptions and correspondence, including letters and emails.
- Provide support to clinicians.
- Actioning e-consult requests
- Perform administrative tasks as required.

Essential experience:
- EMIS Web + ERS (Prefered)
- MINIMUM OF 1 YEAR'S EXPERIENCE AS A GP RECEPTIONIST OR ADMINISTRATIVE LEVEL OR SIMILAR HEALTHCARE SETTING
Essential skills:
- Well-spoken and suitably literate in English
- Ability to manage a fast paced and busy environment
- Polite and a good communicator
- A warm and welcoming approach
- Professional telephone manner
- The ability to be dynamic and sympathetic (we deal with patients in difficult situations)
- Able to remain calm under pressure and when dealing with challenging situations
- Professionalism, including confidentiality and work ethic
- Well organised and systematic
- General computer skills (Microsoft Windows and Office Suite)
Hours
37.5 hrs per week, shift based rota, 8hrs shifts between 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday
Flexibility to be able to cover any shifts between those hours is a mandatory requirement.
