Job summary
We are seeking
two part time cheerful, positive and resilient individuals to join our team as
a Medical Receptionist. The ideal candidates will have experience answering
phones and interacting with patients, be IT literate and will enjoy being a
part of a high-paced working environment. The ability to multi-task and have
attention to detail is essential. Full training for this job is offered but
previous experience is an advantage. Each position will be for 20 hours per
week. Rotas are provided two months in advance. Set hours are not given.

forward-thinking Practice in Ammanford, only 5 minutes off Junction 49 of the
M4.
As a 5 Partner Practice serving a
population of 9,500 patients, we also have a dedicated and supportive Practice
team of advanced clinicians which includes Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Minor
Ailments Nurses, Mental Health Practitioner, and Health Care Assistant.

It is essential that the applicant can
work at both our Ammanford and Tycroes sites as required.
Main Duties:
Ensure that all patients and visitors at
reception and telephone callers to the practice are greeted professionally and
politely.
Answer all incoming phone calls from
patients and other healthcare professionals. Divert them as appropriate, and/or
take and pass on messages.
Deal with administrative queries and
requests from patients and act as liaison with the clinicians as necessary.
Make/cancel/rearrange appointments via
the clinical system.
Support and assist clinicians as
required.
Arrange interpreters as necessary.
Ensure up to date patient information is
recorded.
Give test results where appropriate.
Deal with requests and completed medical
reports. Including the receipt of fees for such reports.
Each morning, open premises, do security
and heating and ventilation checks.
Each evening, perform the lockdown
procedure, set alarms and lock premises.
Support with managing prescription
requests
Monitor incoming electronic test results
to ensure prompt review by clinicians.
Data entry of new and temporary
registrations and relevant patient information.
Retrieve paper notes from storage unit
as requested.
Photocopy documents as required.
Open and distribute practice post as
instructed.
Experience is an advantage but not
essential.
