Kirkgate Surgery

Salaried GP (ARRS)

The closing date is 22 June 2025

Job summary

We are excited to be able offer a salaried GP vacancy to join our team under the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS). This a great opportunity for a GP who is newly qualified or within 2 years of post CCT. The post-holder must be within 2 years of CCT and not have held a substantive post since completion of GP qualification.

We are looking for a positive and enthusiastic GP for 4 sessions per week, ideally Wednesday and Thursday but can be flexible for the right candidate. This is initially a fixed term contract but with the expectation that this becomes a permanent position with the continuation of the ARRS.

Note: the advert may be closed early if a suitable candidate found.

Main duties of the job

The Salaried GP will deliver comprehensive, patient-centred care across a broad range of clinical areas. This includes managing acute and chronic conditions, providing consultations via multiple formats, and making clinical decisions autonomously. They will work collaboratively with the wider practice team to ensure seamless patient care and participate in practice activities such as audits, quality improvement, and training. The role also involves effective communication with patients and colleagues, maintaining accurate clinical records, and adhering to professional and regulatory standards.

Please see the full job description for detailed responsibilities.

About us

Kirkgate Surgery is a thriving, friendly GP practice with a growing list size of around 3,500 patients. We are proud of our supportive team, are patient-focused, and well-regarded within our local community. This is an exciting time to join us as we embrace opportunities to deliver more care in the community through national initiatives.

We are a two-partner practice, supported a fantastic regular GP locum on Fridays. We benefit from daily pharmacy input, which significantly reduces medication queries for our GPs, and from a visiting team that greatly reduces urgent visits. Our admin team is second to none and a huge support to clinical staff.

We have a strong background in medical student and FY2 training, and are looking to develop GP registrar training in the near future.

We work hard to deliver clinical excellence and place a strong emphasis on wellbeing. Our appointment and admin structure reflects this, with no extra patients booked in at short notice. This helps us maintain a manageable workload and support wellbeing.

Being a small practice gives us high levels of continuity of care, where both patients and staff benefit from long-term relationships. Patient feedback is consistently positive, as we foster a collaborative approach to medical care. We are proud to be high QOF achievers.

Our practice ethos is to maintain a positive, compassionate, and adaptable team culture. We support personal development and want every team member to feel valued and enjoy coming to work
