Job summary
Purpose of Post
To ensure that the Practice Receptionists/Care Navigators project a high
quality image to patients, GPs, members of the PHCT, other agencies and
visitors.
To effectively supervise own Reception Team ensuring all reception
duties are performed effectively and to the required standard, meeting
objectives of the Practice. Support
Reception Manager. Solving operational
problems quickly and effectively whilst displaying a calm and professional
manner at all times.
The successful applicant will have previous experience of supervising a team, previous experience in a GP Practice desirable but not essential.
Main duties of the job
Core Responsibilities
1.
Process personal
and telephone requests from patients
2.
Signpost patients
to the correct service
3.
Answer incoming
calls, deal with patients at the front desk
4.
Initiating contact
with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external
agencies
5.
Data entry and
completing tasks
6.
Input data onto
patients healthcare records
7.
Partake in audit as
directed from Reception Manager and Practice Manager
8.
Ensure Care
Navigators/Receptionists understand and
comply with reception protocols and are given adequate training to achieve an
acceptable standard of performance
9.
Identify any
training needs and performance issues with Care Navigators
10. Induction and supervision of new staff
11. Support Reception Manager and Team Leader when on leave/absent from
Practice
12. Changes to appointment system as directed by Reception Manager
13. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
14. Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
15. Understanding and complying with GDPR
16. Understanding and complying with the Health & Safety Act
