Chilcote Surgery

Salaried GP/GP Partner

Information:

This job is now closed

Job summary

There is a surgery in Torquay where there are no duty doctors, no extras, and every day starts with a clean slate. Would you like to work here too?

Chilcote Surgery currently has 8 partners and 4 salaried GPs and we are looking for an enthusiastic GP or GPs to join us for anything up to 8 sessions as our reputation for providing excellent and timely patient care has caused our list to swell.

Flexibility is key and we can offer this in terms of your session numbers, structure of sessions and whether you would like to be a partner or salaried GP.

Indemnity cover is provided and there are 6 weeks of annual leave per annum in addition to Bank holidays.

At Chilcote we are happy in our work, using the "Dr First" system of access where we prioritise continuity of care, appropriate access, and satisfying consultations for patient and doctor, leading to excellent patient feedback. We also cap our consultation numbers to protect the working day.

We are proud to be a training practice and provide mentorship for new/returning doctors. Everyone has an open door, and we would support a newly-qualified GP wanting to join the Fellowship scheme.

You can choose whether to become involved in working with other surgeries/PCNs in the Enhanced Care in Care Homes service, or team up with colleagues in the practice undertaking Research, Medical Student/Registrar training, and homeless clinics, if you wish.

Main duties of the job

To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the PMS contract.

About us

Providing GP services to people across Torquay, this 8 partner practice takes pride in the enviable practice reputation of providing outstanding, safe, compassionate and personalised care to a growing list size of c. 14,300.

This is a teaching and training practice, working with students and GP registrars from the Peninsula Medical School at the University of Plymouth Faculty of Medicine. The practice has an innovative outlook and believes in investing in development and training.

Chilcote Surgery, Pembroke House Surgery and Compass House Medical Centres, work collaboratively to form the Baywide PCN (Primary Care Network), enabling managerial support, aligned project interests and the integration of patient services.

Chilcote Surgery enjoys an excellent reputation and high patient satisfaction. There is a willingness to work closely with partners in the wider health community and third sector, and the website also signposts to other sources of self-help.

There is a strong team ethos within the practice which is described as supportive, like-minded, non-hierarchical, stable, open and friendly with a collective vision for patient care.

The Practice premises are very comfortable, appealing places of work, with a relaxed atmosphere and team of friendly staff.

Whilst being clinically driven, the practice also performs well financially and presents as a strongly democratic, happy and balanced team.
