Job summary

We are offering a permanent position, alongside an MDT with years of experience, giving post holder the chance to experience continuity of care and see cases develop from initial triage through to resolution.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of paramedical services, working as part of the practice’s multidisciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population.

The paramedic / paramedic practitioner will be required to work autonomously in the practice and in the community (home visits), providing a range of services such as assessment, diagnosis, treatment, telephone triage and referring patients appropriately, as well as supporting the management team in the reviewing of clinical policy and procedure.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Current Registered Nurse (NMC) or Registered Paramedic (HPC)
  • Evidence of continued CPD
  • ECP/ENP Minor Injuries/Minor Illness Course Level 6

Desirable

  • Attended X-ray/IRMER course
  • Teaching and Assessing Qualification
  • Relevant BSc or MSc

Experience

Essential

  • Experience as an autonomous practitioner within a minor injury/illness centre or mobile service.
  • Experience of the ECP/Advanced Practitioner role within Primary or Secondary Care.
  • Experience of triage/initial assessment.
  • Experience in using I.T based patient documentation systems.

Desirable

  • Experience of performing a social assessment.
  • Experience as a practitioner in an A&E Department or similar emergency care centre.
  • Experience of clinical audit.
  • Experience of research projects.

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience of non-medical prescribing and using PGDs.
  • Knowledge of child protection issues.

Desirable

  • Able to record/ interpret ECG.
  • Experience of performing a social assessment.
